Satellite imagery shows minimal cloud cover across India despite monsoon arrival
Satellite images captured on July 11, 2026, revealed that 70% to 80% of India had minimal cloud cover, resulting in little to no rainfall across major regions. This clear spell comes just days after the southwest monsoon fully blanketed the country. However, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall for northeast India, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, and eastern Uttar Pradesh.
