Google has agreed to purchase one million carbon credits from Indian startup Mitti Labs through 2030. The deal is the largest publicly announced agreement for credits generated by reducing methane emissions in rice farming. Covering one hundred thousand hectares of farmland, the project will help Google achieve its net zero emissions target while cutting agricultural water use.
