Assam Police detained over 30 CJP workers, including Ashutosh Ranka, ahead of a regional volunteers' meeting on Sunday. The meeting was shifted to a new venue after the original one was pressured into cancelling the booking. Ranka and the team were released after they asked the police to drop them from where they were picked up "illegally". The CJP co-convenor thanked the public for their support, saying "Jai Ai Akom!" as he addressed the press at the new venue.
