Uttarakhand Police arrested actress Urmila Sanawar from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday over alleged defamatory social media remarks against a former BJP leader’s family and another woman. The arrest occurred a day before Sanawar was scheduled to appear in a CBI court regarding a narco-analysis test in the 2022 Ankita Bhandari murder case. Opposition leaders questioned the timing of her arrest, while police registered two separate cases against her in Haridwar and Dehradun.
