Cyclone likely to hit Andhra Pradesh and Odisha coast by October 28

A low-pressure weather system over the Bay of Bengal is expected to intensify into a cyclone and cross the southern Odisha and northern Andhra Pradesh coast by October 28. The India Meteorological Department has also warned of moderate to heavy rainfall across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry through October 26. Heavy downpours, thunder, and lightning already struck Tiruchi and nearby delta districts on Friday evening, causing severe traffic snarls during peak hours.
