Israel to Close West Bank Land Crossings on Election Day

Israel announced on Sunday that it will close all land crossings with the West Bank on October 27, the day of the election, amid a hardening stance on militancy after Palestinian gunmen killed two soldiers in the territory. Palestinians will not be allowed to enter Israeli communities for work, and a ban on entry and exit of Palestinian workers will be enforced. The move comes as Prime Minister Netanyahu vows to exact a heavy price for the attack.
