UP Court Acquits Rahul Gandhi in Defamation Case Against Shah

A court in Uttar Pradesh’s Sultanpur acquitted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday in a 2018 criminal defamation case. BJP leader Vijay Mishra filed the complaint over Gandhi calling Union Home Minister Amit Shah a murder accused during a Bengaluru press conference.
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Shubham Verma ruled that the remarks were not defamatory in nature. Gandhi was present in court when the verdict was pronounced.
